MBETTA – GOSPORT TWINNING

The parish of Mbetta lies in south west Cameroon within the diocese of Mamfe, close to the Nigerian border. It’s links with Gosport were born out of our friendship with Father David Fomanka Nkong, a Cameroonian priest from the parish of Akwaya, Mamfe diocese, who during his Summer holidays in 2002 visited Gosport to minister to the Catholic Community.

"The aim of the link is nothing less than the promotion of the Good News, that Jesus is Lord of all races, tribes, tongues and nations. It is hoped that the initiative will help transform not only the lives of our brothers and sisters in Mbetta but also our own visions and practical implementation of the Gospel message, so that together we shall become evangelists whose actions shine out more than words and whose lives of witness take on a practical dimension."
